The word “Neer” comes from Devanagari Hindi. It means Water or the Nectar of Life. The composition and form of these lamps cluster captures the story of village ladies from western Rajasthan who walk for miles through the desert in search of fresh water. The silhouettes are of three such women friends with water vessels over their head journeying through the dunes of the Thar Desert.
